Shore ceased all production operations in 2012 and their products are no longer available. CCSi continues to support Shore equipment in regard to service, calibration and ISO/IEC 17025 certification.
The Model LR (Lever Loader) design converts the durometer into a portable tabletop instrument with the flexibility to test in all hardness ranges. Improvements in reproducibility and repeatability, compared to manual application, are achieved.
The test specimen is raised to the durometer, and simultaneously lifts the durometer and mass from the ‘at rest’ position and the reading is recorded.
The lesser force required to operate the stand, compared to direct manual application, reduces operator fatigue especially in a production environment.
The employment of the small detachable mass is required for Type A, B and O durometer testing. The larger detachable mass is necessary for Type C, D and DO durometer testing, both of which are included with the Model LR operating stand. No mass is employed when testing with Type OO durometers.
