Shore ceased all production operations in 2012 and their products are no longer available. CCSi continues to support Shore equipment in regard to service, calibration and ISO/IEC 17025 certification.
Standard Round Style durometers, having a presser foot area of 665 mm² (1.03 in²) may be to large to gain access to areas of a specimen to be tested.
The Shore® Round Style Half Inch Foot durometer eliminates this problem, in many instances, by incorporating a 13 mm (0.5 inch) diameter presser foot, having an area of only 132 mm² (0.2 in²) that is extended 16 mm from the housing. This enables the durometer to be used both as a standard durometer and as a ‘special’ instrument.
Improved repeatability and accuracy may be attained by mounting the durometer on a Shore® Operating Stand.
