ElasTek Type D Test Block Kit (71430-D)
The Type D kit contains five blocks at nominal hardness values of 45, 55, 65, 75, and 85 under ASTM D2240 — a scale used for harder plastics and rigid elastomers that fall outside the range the A or B scales are designed to measure accurately.
As with CCSi’s other durometer reference kits, the full set ships in a latching storage case for protection between uses, and individual blocks can be ordered separately as replacements rather than needing an entire new kit. Unlike the A, B, and A&M kits, the Type D blocks aren’t noted as color coded on this particular set, so it’s worth double-checking labeling if you’re integrating it alongside color-coded kits from other scales.
ISO-17025 calibration is included, with CCSi recommending annual recalibration and offering that service directly. If your testing program spans multiple hardness ranges, pairing this kit with the Type C kit covers both rigid and low-density cellular materials alongside standard A- or B-scale rubber compounds.
