ElasTek Type C Test Block Kit (71430-C)
The Type C kit is smaller than the A, B, or A&M sets — four blocks rather than seven, at nominal hardness values of 40, 50, 60, and 85 under ASTM D2240. Type C durometers are typically used on foam, sponge rubber, and other low-density cellular materials, which is why the reference set doesn’t need the same seven-point spread used for solid rubber compounds on the A or B scales.
The blocks are color coded and packaged in the same latching storage case used across CCSi’s durometer reference kits, protecting them from bench damage between calibration checks. Individual blocks are available separately if one in the set needs replacing.
ISO-17025 calibration ships with every kit, and CCSi recommends yearly recalibration, which CCSi also performs directly. If your lab tests both foam materials and solid rubber compounds, you’ll likely need this kit alongside the Type A or Type B kit to cover both durometer scales in use.
