CAM045 — 10″ Groove Joint Brass Pliers
Stepping away from the needle and blunt-nose designs entirely, the CAM045 is a 10″ groove-joint plier with 1-1/4″ jaws and five separate jaw-opening positions, giving a much wider grip range than the fixed-pivot pliers found elsewhere in this line.
Solid brass construction and foam-covered handles carry through from the rest of the range, but the groove-joint mechanism itself is built for gripping larger, bulkier objects — round stock, wider fittings, oversized components — where a narrow-jawed plier would either slip under load or simply fail to open wide enough to get a secure grip in the first place.
This is the tool for jobs the smaller pliers in CCSi’s brass line simply aren’t sized for, and the five-position adjustment means one tool covers a broad range of grip widths instead of requiring several fixed-jaw pliers kept on hand for different diameters.
For finer detail work in tight mold features where a wide-jawed groove plier would be overkill, the needle-nose CAM042 or CAM044 remain the better-suited tools.
