CCSi features this high quality Heat Deflection Temperature Tester (HDT) conforming to the requirements of ASTM D648 and other methods for determining the temperature at which an arbitrary deformation under a flexural load occurs on molded and sheet materials that are rigid, or semi—rigid, at a “normal temperature”.

It is designed primarily for determining this characteristic for polymers and thermoplastic elastomers having a thickness greater than 3 mm, although specimens of uniform stress distribution and a thickness greater than 1 mm, may be plied to a thickness of 3 mm or greater, to achieve meaningful empirical test determinations.
