CCSi features this high quality Maeser Water Penetration Tester for evaluating the dynamic water resistance of shoe leather by the Maeser Water Penetration Test as described in ASTM D2099 “Standard Test Method for Dynamic Water Resistance of Shoe Upper Leather by the Maeser Water Penetration Tester.”
The Model HT9492 is especially well suited for testing all types of shoe leather, and some other materials, in determining the initial water penetration and water absorption of the shoe material under dynamic conditions.
While being flexed, up to four specimens are subjected to the specified NaCl solution (sodium chloride + distilled water). When the solution penetrates to the interior, the counter stops registering. Absorption is determined by blotting the specimens to remove excess solution and weighing as described in the test method.
