CCSi features the high quality Hung Ta™ Model HT8029A Immersion Tester for evaluating the affect of various fluids on wire insulating materials which include the primary insulation over the conductor, as well as the insulating jackets over shielded constructions as described in ASTM D3032 “Standard Test Methods for Hookup Wire Insulation,” Section 23 “Fluid Immersion.”
This Immersion Tester also meets the requirements for the immersion testing of thermoplastic (specifically PVC) insulations and jackets employed in telecommunications wire and cable as described in ASTM D4565 “Standard Test Methods for Physical and Environmental Performance Properties of Insulations and Jackets for Telecommunications Wire and Cable,” Section 25 “Oil Immersion Test (Jackets Only).”
The Model HT8029A also conforms to the requirements outlined in ASTM D4313 “Standard Specification for General-Purpose, Heavy-Duty, and Extra-Heavy-Duty Crosslinked Chlorinated Polyethylene (CM) Jackets For Wire and Cable,” with regard to the conditioning of the specimens prior to performing the ‘tensile strength’ and ‘elongation at rupture’ tests described in Table 1 “Physical Properties for CM Jacket.”
Similarly, the Immersion Tester meets the requirements of ASTM D470 “Standard Test Methods for Crosslinked Insulations and Jackets for Wire and Cable,” when preparing specimens for the testing of ‘tensile strength’ and ‘measurement of elongation’ specified in Section 13 “Oil Immersion Test”.
The Hung Ta™ Model HT8029A Immersion Tester is a compact instrument, which conserves precious laboratory space! Its small footprint, relatively light weight, and self contained design are ideal for tabletop locations.
It is also extremely versatile… in addition to the applications mentioned above, there are many more methods and practices for which this instrument may be employed. The HT8029A can be used with virtually any of the fluid media (primarily oils) specified in the volumes of ASTM and ISO.
