CCSi features this high quality apparatus for evaluating the surface discoloration of white, or light colored, vulcanized elastomeric materials that occurs when exposed to heat and ultraviolet (UV) irradiance. This instrument is similar to the instrument described in ASTM D1148, however the wattage and irradiance levels of the U.V. lamps are dissimilar and there are no provisions for rotation of the specimens. The replacement lamps are commercially available.
The Model HT8247 is especially useful for simulating the exposure of consumer products packaged for storage or shipping. The instrument features convenient front panel mounted controls, a large stainless steel test chamber, two generous stainless steel adjustable sample shelves, a low maintenance stainless cabinet exterior and a reliable air circulation mechanism.
