This fully self-contained, 4 Post, 100 ton, Laboratory Rubber Press is ideally suited for high volume laboratories and small batch operations … such as R&D and accelerated ‘ramp-ups’ from design-to-finish applications.

The Vickers™ 4,160 PSI (292.5 kg/cm²) hydraulic unit is mounted in the cabinet base and, being fully enclosed, reduces contamination of the surrounding environment.

The control panel, featuring nearly ‘hands-off’ pre-programming capabilities, is isolated from both the platen and hydraulic systems, which virtually eliminates the detrimental effects typically associated with heat and hydraulic mechanisms.

The conveniently mounted, forward facing controls include OSHA recommended ‘dual-palm’ buttons, West® digital temperature controllers, Allen-Bradley® PLC press controller, and a large ‘dial type’ pressure gauge, are other important features.

This heavy duty 4 Post, Laboratory Rubber Press also incorporates a 6 inch thick, fully guided bolster, Barksdale™ gauge for adjustable tonnage, 1000 Watt electric heaters (6 per platen), and adjustable ‘daylight’ opening.

The rod type, ‘shaded watt density’ heaters, are optimally arranged and designed to provide more energy to the platen perimeter, assuring a uniform cross-platen thermal profile, compared to strip or ring style platen heaters. This uniform thermal profile allows the use of 12 x 12 in. molds to be employed with this 15 x 15 in. platen arrangement, where most require larger platens.

The Allen-Bradley® MicroLogic programmable press controller allows pressure / time control of the press process … from final clamp, through repetitious ‘bumps’ to maintain a set pressure (set-point programmable), to press opening!

This press is available in various configurations:

  • 100 ton, 15 x 15 inch;
  • 100 or 150 ton, 18 x 18 inch;
  • 100, 150, or 200 ton, 24 x 24 inch;
  • 480 VAC (optional);
  • Intermediate, or ‘multi-platen’ design (optional);
  • Water cooled platens (optional).
