Alpha Technologies® RPA 2000™ |
|
|
| CCSi has acquired a well maintained and very gently used Alpha Technologies® RPA 2000™, which is now available for purchase. This fine instrument has been performance tested, calibrated to the manufacturer's recommendations, ISO/ASTM specifications and our rigorous in-house requirements. |
| The Alpha Technologies® RPA 2000™ (Rubber Process Analyzer) is a versatile rheological test instrument, designed to measure the properties of rubber compounds throughout the various stages of processing... from pre-cure to post-cure. |
The versatility and utility of the RPA 2000™ is exemplified by its ability to perform a wide range of analytical and performance testing, including:
- component materials characterization;
- raw material testing;
- master batch characterization;
- end compound testing;
- cured compound testing
|
Additionally, the RPA 2000™ ascertains important viscoelastic properties providing data on critical parameters such as:
- processability;
- state of cure characterizations;
- final state of cure.
|
| The sensitivity of the RPA 2000™ detects small changes in levels of ingredients and variations in compound properties. The range and flexibility of the RPA allows comparison to historical laboratory tests, reducing testing complexity, time and cost. |
Alpha Technologies® RPA 2000™ : Features |
Major features of the RPA 2000 include variable test parameters:
- temperature;
- oscillation frequency;
- Strain/angle of oscillation;
- time.
|
|
| The sample is placed into a sealed test cavity and directly heated by two biconical dies which provide a quick and accurate thermal response. The starting temperature for the test is set automatically and controlled by heating or forced air cooling. The temperature can be varied during a test, or maintained at a constant value to within ± 0.3º C, between 40º and 230º C. |
| The direct drive servo motor system can vary the oscillation angle (0.05 to 90 degrees of arc) and frequency (0.03 to 33 Hz) over a wide range of conditions. |
|
| The torque is transmitted from the oscillating lower die to a torque transducer in the upper die. The measurements acquired by the torque transducer are transmitted to the computer, where the selected sample properties are calculated, displayed and stored the for immediate or future analysis. |
| Variable strain is applied through the oscillating lower die. The strain angle can be varied between 0.05º and 90º in increments of 0.01º. Torque, modulus and viscosity are measured at a preprogrammed frequency and temperature |
| The oscillation frequency of the applied strain can be varied precisely between 0.03 and 33Hz. Torque, modulus and viscosity are measured at a preprogrammed strain and temperature. |
